Intervention

Once students understand how to address each command term and have been given opportunities to develop these skills, teachers will mark the quality of their work and identify what has to be done in order for them to improve. Based on the needs of each student, it is very important that personalised intervention is put in place to help so that they can work towards achieving their potential.

For students who find extended writing difficult, they will most likely benefit from the use of writing frames, sample answers, tools that will help them plan their answer as well as a strong focus on spelling, punctuation and grammar. The use of highlighters can allow for students to become more resilient and take more ownership for the quality of work they are producing.
